February 26th, 2010 has been set for this years Stand Up Day in schools across the province. Schools are encouraged to get involved in the day to take action against bullying. The Eastern Region Committee Against Violence has outlined several ideas for how schools can get involved in this region, including entering drawing and video contests which will allow students to not only win cash prizes, but also have their school entered into a draw to win cash as well!

The Eastern Region Committee Against Violence is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Kaufman will be visiting the region to conduct a one day workshop for service providers on developing successful strategies to end violence against women, in particular through the engagement of men and boys.

In addition, Dr. Kaufman will be doing an evening community information session available to the general public where he will discuss gender equality, ending violence against women, and promoting new roles for men.
